Hi all

Had one of the worst nights, couldnt sleep at all so got up at 3am, thought I would catch upon the posts here.
I am due to visit my IP this week to go through the completed proposal. But I have been panicking again with the what if's ( what if it's rejected, etc). I know I know, IP wouldnt put proposal forward if it wasnt a solid, viable offer etc, and I do have one of if not the best IP and have absolutely no complaints, but I feel I have to start thinking about what I will do if the IVA is not accepted it looks like it will take me approx 34 years to repay on a DMP, 34 YEARS!! And of course there is BR.
What a mess, I have a wedding to go in Brighton in two weeks time, I havent seen most of the people there for nearly 20 years and was so looking forward to it, its a 400 mile round trip with an overnight stay in a hotel, cant afford it now (what am I talking about, I couldnt afford it before). Am devastated and have only myself to blame. Idiot!
Went food shopping in the week and to the PO to send off some post, I popped into M&S with my mum and was asked if I wanted a credit card 3 times while walking around and then was asked in the PO too! Am going to get something tattooed to my forehead, any suggestions would be welcome.[:(]
Enough of my ramblings, take care all

aggghhh pippa sorry who have had a sleepless night, maybe you will feel better once the meeting with the IP is out the way and they may be able to reassure you a bit more, unfortunately there is no guarantees with the iva and they can't give you that, but i am sure they would only put your offer through if it was viable, the proposing and the waiting for the creditors meeting is always the hardest part it feels like you are in limbo, there is nothing anyone can say or do that will make you change the way you feel, i remember the 6 months of sleepless nights that i had before my creditors meeting i was like a zombie in the end, there will be a solution for you and things will get better, just try and relax more and not think of it all the time, easier said than done i know!

we are all here for you and wishing the iva through for you, all the best take care and try and have a nap to catch up on some sleep.

unfortunately thats how long my IP decided to take, its not the norm, but they gave me the run around telling me there was a back log, not all IP's take that long so don't worry on that score, unfortunately at that time i hadn't found this site so went into my application for the iva very blind and desperate, an IVA was never to be for me, don't let me put you off as they do work for many others, but i do know what you are going through and its only recently i have been able to start sleeping again, i just wanted to let you know i know how you are feeling as mine was dragged out for so long and that you are not alone, once you have closure and you know which route your debt problem is going the relief is immense and you do gradually start to rebuild your life, i still get letters through the door also offering me credit and i know what you mean about walking round shops where all they seem to want to do is give you a credit card, don't be put off by my blogg i was very unlucky in my choice of debt company and thats why i wrote the blogg to warn others, hope you manage to get to the wedding and let your hair down for the night, just to take a night off your worries.

Thanks again,

Got to say you have been very brave, well done. Whats the situation on your accomodation now, have you found somewhere yet? This is a worry for me if I end up going down the BR route. I am a single parent with 1 child but I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, cant think who would rent to me as a BR with pets. Cant even contemplate rehoming them, just not an option.

our local housing authority has a 12 yr waiting list for my area, they will only give us one option in a not so nice area, so not even going there, to rent through an estate agent because we are BR they want 6 months up front, we can't find any private landlords for love nor money so will be opting for the 6 months up front, we are looking at the mo, don't know how long the OR will give us so have decided not to pay the mortgage for 6 months to raise the deposit, we have decided to move just outside the area were it is a little bit cheaper but the houses are actually bigger, its just finding the right one now and hoping it hasn't gone. i have 3 kids and we think ultimately the 2 little ones will have to change school, the older one we can keep in his high school and he can stay with my parents in the week, he only has 2yrs left here and he has been taking a few GCSE's 2 yrs early so really wouldn't like to move him, we are also coming up against the landlords not wanting pets, hubby said they will have to go but try telling that to 3 kids but hopefully we will find somewhere who will let us take our 2 cats.

it all depends on your area pippa is it a sought after area in regards to renting? mine is don't know why as it is basically one huge council estate but it is a nice area, many have now bought the houses hence the shortage of council houses.

I don't know where you live but it might be worht looking up to see if your Local Authority is signed up to the Homes Scheme, if it is chances are you will get offered accommodation by the LA.

It works by you either have a relative living in hte area or your job is in hte area.

I hot my vcouncil flat 8 years ago via the Homes Scheme as i worked in the Borough of Islington at the time, it took 3 months from applciation to picking up the keys.

The HOMES Scheme
The HOMES Scheme enables tenants to move to homes outside of the Oldham Metropolitan Borough.

You will usually need a local connection to be nominated for another borough.

You have a local connection if you:

Have a close member of the family living in the borough
Have a permanent job in the borough
There is no point opting for a borough that has a shortage of housing, as your nomination is likely to be refused. A borough will only accept a nomination if there is a realistic chance of making you an offer.

Turning down an offer from another borough will not affect your application for housing with us.
