Hello again!
Well we went to cab today, which helped in some ways. It was suggested we should apply for housing benefit to help with the rent, which I hadn't thought of. Also to re-apply for tax credits as ours were stopped due to an over payment. When we mentioned about being in an iva though she advised us to stop paying as our home was more important. Then she told us that when hubby was sorted out with a job to contact payplan to help us deal with creditors! I don't know about just letting the iva fail and then ending up with creditor hastle again and then going for a dmp! Which is what I think she was getting at!
I phoned DFD and they said to send in hubbies p45, last wage slip and a letter explaining what was happening and this would be passed on to the supervisor to see if we could take a payment break until we had a clearer idea of what was happening.
We are now looking at pros and cons of everything, including staying where we are or moving to parents house.
It's just annoying that we have to wait until Monday after Hubbies Disciplinary hearing to start the ball rolling! Oh well!
Thanks for everybody who helped with advice yesterday!
Jo x

Hey, well done, its probably better to draw on all advice offered anyway. Even though I would, as I am sure you do, want to know whats going to happen like NOW. So I can understand your frustration.

Hang in there hun and get everything in the pot before you decide on anything, its quite a big step, stand back for a bit.

Jojo, I hope Monday goes ok and there is a positive outcome. I also hope that DFD give you a payment break while you sort your lives out, that's very important. I'm thinking of you both, I know this must be awful for you. Please let us know how it all goes. X

Thanks everyone! Strangely we are starting to feel a little more in control of the situation! I think we're starting to make some sense out of it slowly! Just wondering if anyone knows anything about housing benefit and what any reasons for not qualifying would be? We've just found out that if you are dissmissed from employment you don't automatically qualify for Job Seekers for 26 weeks.
Thanks again
