Various banks come in for quite a lot of flak
on here, so i thought i would post some praise.
We have had a Co-op Cashminder account since
the start of our IVA and have found the staff to be
polite, efficient and friendly.
This week, due to an admin cock up Mrs Torch's
pay cheque was late being paid in, we paid some cash
in to make up a shortfall but too late to stop
a direct debit failing for insufficient funds,
and a charge being placed on our account.
I was really fretting about getting into trouble as
an overdraft is a no-no on this account, so rang them
tonight to apologise.
The lady i spoke to could see we had paid in some cash
to try to recover the situation, so they cancelled
the charge!.
The Co-Op rocks.[:)]

Co-op do seem to be the best by a mile, and particularly for bankruptcy as well.

When our clients need to find new bank accounts we regularly suggest they approach the Co-Op.

The feedback has been entirely positive.

I am not trying to ruin the reputation, but just wanted to tell another side of the story! I know they have worked well for many people, but a friend of mine had a bad experience similar to the first posting. She accidentally took to much out of her debit account and she tried to fix it as well the next day because she happened to get her pay check. However, they kindly told her that they could not take the fee off. Which meant she got an overdraft and lost her account. I understand both sides but it was just an unlucky situation!

Thats a shame, I have once gone slightly over and I had a letter the following day, it was just an oversight on my part. I thought I might lose my account as I have heard they do not tollerate this. I sorted it out straight away and have been more careful since. I only went over by 5p though.

Co-op's policy is 3 unauthorised overdrafts and they close the account.
