Sorry you had no luck Quark. I was watching the news at lunchtime and they had a feature about bike theft, and how common it is now. This was about SW London, but it sounded like it's common everywhere.
I don't know if you've got an Asda near you, but they were doing adult bikes for £70 recently, and they didn't look too bad.
I saw those as well at our local Asda, and they do look really good.
