Lesley, totally agree with what you have said.
I had a visit and also have the book, didn't decide to proceed but waiting for£9.99 per month first year offer and the Nest thermostat to persuade me. I totalled up what I would pay for boiler cover over the term and the figures are not that bad. You can buy it out as above so that option is there. I would have the thermostatic radiator valves too as all mine are broken or on their way out. .

Well, they may not but I'm hopeful as it ran for about a year until very recently.
At the moment it's just for 3 months.

Hi, we were in the same position last year but were able to get a charitable grant for the full cost of a new boiler from a charity called Charis Grant.
It took about 8 weeks in total because we had to supply 3 months payslips and complete an I&E but it was well worth it.

Had ours serviced last week ...told would be lucky to escape another 12 months with it ... Looking into it now ready to sort out in the spring ready for next winter !!
