My breakdown service contract is up for renewal soon, and I need to change providers a) because I don't need such comprehensive cover these days and b) I don't want to pay so much !

A little while ago one of our posters mentioned thier breakdown service provider (not Britannia, AA, RAC or Green Flag ) who they were very happy with ..... anyone remember who t'was (provider or poster) ?
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I got comprehensive Home Rescue and Recovery from Kwik Fit via a comparison web site for £28.85 per annum. Fortunately have never had to use them yet, so cannot comment on their response times and customer service.

The AA just sent me some great news. As I had been with them a whole year I was now eligible for silver membership. On closer inspection this actually meant our joint cover went from £12 a month to £21!!

Joined the RAC, because loyalty counts for nothing(I left the RAC last year for similar reasons). They must make a fortune out of those who can't be bothered to shop around.

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

I have to disagree about the RAC - I'm named on hubby's policy and a couple of years ago the price shot up, presumably as I'd had to call them out. He phoned them and they brought it back down to same as we paid the year before. It hasn't gone up again this year either.

I'm with RAC and only have basic cover but it didn't go up much last year or only pennies so I stayed but if it ever does I'll be off.

We've got the full cover (I have to have homestart) and unless the price goes up too much I'll stay with the RAC as they have been good every time I've called them out.
