Thankyou,I have a £170 payment to make to finish things off. Trying not to get too excited about things yet. I am struggling to find someone willing to give us a savings account for our money,co op dont want to know which is amazing as I have banked with them for 42 months now and always been in credit. Post office seems to have let me open an online saver account, and the other options are credit unions, but nobody will let me open an ISA and therefore I am being denied my right to tax free savings!!

I bet you will be very glad when that final payment has gone. Strange about the savings account and being declined an ISA seems unfair, especially as you rightly say it's an extra tax allowance. I wonder if anybody else has had any success in opening one post protected trust deed? And if so, who with!??

That's right with changing on line. As soon as you have sorted the electric, log on and change.

Bizarre really but that's all I needed to do!

Ahh the farce continues. Spoke to IP this morning and sent a scanned copy of the threatening letter from British Gas. IP has got back in contact saying that the Billing Dept won't speak to her without our authority. We have called to give our authority and now waiting to hear back as couldn't speak to the person who requires it. As our IP has stated, this is ridiculous, you can blatantly see that British Gas has accepted the IVA and to just change one account over and not the other is simply ludicrous.

Consider it done! Still waiting to hear from them. IP is calling them again. Amazing how little things like this really wind you up. It's just the sheer ridiculousness and inflexible attitude. Still..they did put us on Standard Tariff for the new gas account which is "their most popular tariff" I guess we should be grateful.

I won't be in the queue - British Gas phoned us last week to reduce our direct debit as we've been overpaying!

I'm not with BG thankfully but would be in the queue as they have been bad with so many posters on here.

Thats nice of them,so they openly admit that most customers are NOT on the CHEAPEST tariff which is surely the best one to be on,but their more expensive standard tariff.

Why oh why dont people shop around and stick 2 fingers up to these companies who rely on people not knowing how to go about getting the best deal??[:(!]

It will depend though on whether or not other companies are happy to take on people in an IVA/Trust Deed/BR.

Sometimes it is better to stay with the original company.

I suppose I meant the general solvent population and agree that it can be hard to switch suppliers.

I hate being with BG,I would rather be with a smaller more personal company but needs must!!

I'm glad I'm with Atlantic - had no problems at all with them.
