[:0] my laptop broke friday night - the screen has gone all funny and I'm going to have to try and get it repaired.

I felt like my lifeline had been cut without being able to use it - even resorted to using the wii to gain access to the internet. That was hard work [:D]

Now I'm in work, I can access the fourm. I'll also try and borrow laptop for the evenings, but may not be able to.

So, apologies if I'm not around to post much.......normal service will be resumed depending on cost of repair to laptop.

I hope you get it sorted out soon Julie. My laptop is on it's last legs and I'm dreading the day it gives out!

Oh no! My PC is broke awaiting repair, but can't have it done as no spare this side of Christmas and my laptop well it really is a poor sight and very poorly but for now it's going, I like it when daughter stays over at friends I get the luxury of using hers. Work is full of PC's being an IT tutor but never post from work.

Sorry Julie, forgot to add, hope your laptop resumes normal service very soon. x

Thanks both - the laptop is just over a year old, but sadly out of warranty. I'm sure one of my neighbours repairs PC's etc...so hubby is going to ask him about it.

I'm lucky that I can access the internet as much as I want in work and there are company laptops that I can take home - I try not too though as I always end up working long into the evening.

Isn't it amazing how much you miss the internet??

When we didn't have the internet at home recently I ended up logging onto the forum on my phone each evening - I'm not looking forward to getting the bill!

Unfortunately I couldn't post for some reason, but at least I could keep up with everything!

Thanks Marksam - it was bought online so I'll have to find out from where ( it was a present).

I've checked my consumer rights and a laptop is covered for 6 years from date of purchase in additon to warranty. I daresay, I might have a fight on my hands to get it repaired fro free, but I don't scare easily.

Watch this space......

Sorry about your laptop Julie - I dread the day something happens to mine as I'd feel as though my right arm had been cut off!

We're so dependant on them aren't we? My hubby never turns one on and can never understand the attraction I have to them, he also thinks that anyone with Facebook is definitely sad...he hasn't a clue, but at least we don't argue about the usage of the laptop or PC x

We've got one each so there's no arguing! Mine is rubbish, but I'm stuck with it for the foreseeable future!

There's only me uses it in our house, so no arguing here either. I do sit downstairs to use it so at least can converse with hubby and keep an eye on the TV at the same time!

Only I use it my house too....I may have a result with my laptop. Hubby spoke to neighbour and it turns out he has his own computer business, so will look at laptop and repair for me........free of charge [:0][:)]

Apparently Acer will only repair during the 1 year warranty and even though you can take them to the small claims, that will cost me in time and money.

Hopefully he'll fix it by the end of the week.......I don't want much do I [:D]

That's great news Julie. You'll hopefully be up and running again shortly.
