Julie - sorry to hear you are in agony with your back. Hope it gets better soon and a cream cake sounds just the thing!

A DSLR is a camera. We have one and, whilst it isn't the latest model, it take the pictures we want.

Well done Lesley - don't spend it all at once!

Sorry you are feeling rough again. An early night will do you good - and no getting up at silly o'clock![:D]

I'm up at silly o'clock again in pain with sinus problems, I'm wondering if I need to go somewhere as this pain is certainly worse than I've had before!

Thanks H, I only use basic medication, I'm a bit of a wuss basically and don't do anything more than a beechams powder and paracetamol sometimes. I do take a mult vitamin daily and some glucosamine and chondroitin for my joints!

I probably need to go buy something else and give it a 'go', just such a wimp!

I'll pop in the chemist tomorrow Helen! ooh that doesn't seem right for me to type!##

I like LadyH, but I'll stop using it now...well I may forget sometimes but I will make a positive effort to try. Name changes are hard especially when you're used to avoiding real names and then it's changed to the real name.

Got those bits and bobs, thanks Lesley!
I keep contemplating your offer, but my girls are just so terrified and I kind of feel bad for putting them through something that will scare them, although it's for their own good.
My spare room resemble santa' grotto at the moment, but my massage bed is in there so if you do fancy a reiki session, let me know. Happy to answer any question you may have off forum if you like!
I can do Hopi Ear candling too, which is fantastic for sinus pain. I adore having it done, so relaxing!

I'll take you up on that in the New Year, I can bring my dog with me and he'll sit in my car for as long as I leave him there for (weather permitting) and doesn't have to come out at all, we can do it progressively. I wouldn't be offering this if I didn't have 100% confidence in him.

My friend's little girl was terrified of dogs and it really held her back - she wouldn't go to friends' houses if they had dogs and was panicked every time she saw a dog. Someone they know had a very placid dog and she gradually got to know the dog and is now fine and hasn't got a problem with dogs.

If your children are that scared of them AR, wouldn't it be better to help them get over it whilst they are young rather than being scared all through their childhood? After all, dogs aren't something you can completely avoid.

I think that's a good approach Skippy and your friend did right and helped the child to overcome her fears.

I honestly do think I can help AR's daughters and wouldn't offer if I wasn't 100% confident in my offer.

I think it's a lovey offer Lesley, and I know you wouldn't do it if you were 100% sure. I hope she accepts as it seems a shame for the children to be so scared, especially when the majority of dogs are lovely.

I've always loved dogs, and brought my daughter up the same. She never went up to strange dogs though without asking me or her father if it was ok to approach the owner, and then she would ask them if it was ok for her to stroke the dog.

The only thing I could never hide from her was a fear of insects - and she is now much worse than I am!

I think dogs get a bad press sometimes but there are so many bad owners and not so many bad dogs, I won't say none but most dogs if trained properly are fine, I would never trust a dog 100% alone with a child not even my dog. I have 5 grandchildren and they mix with both my dogs in the house, my eldest granddaughter aged 5 walks my labrador very well and they're all taught how to respect dogs from a very early age.
