We never eat cakes so no problems there. Hubby has just done a huge stew and we have 17 portions in the freezer now. Plus we have chilli, bolognese and chinese curry all waiting for when we want them.

We tend to buy reduced bread to freeze, but fresh bread for day to day eating (not me - hubby as I don't eat a lot of bread these days.) Butchers is done weekly, as is the pet shop and the big shop is done once a week. Don't tend to do a lot of top up shopping.

do you all get interest on whats left in your account, as we do,

we get payed on the 24th of the month, and most d/d and s/o come out by the 30th, but i'm thinking of changting the d/d and s/o to the 22nd, maybe we would earn a little more intrest on leaving the money in longer, any one got a comment on this, or does anyone do it this way?

We've just got a basic cashminder account and don't get paid any interest.

We do but it's minimal a few pence so not worth me changing s/o or d.d's, but I suppose it all adds up? x

All this help is invaluable, thanks ever so much. This weekend we have decided to visit our local market every sat morning, we have a good one in blackburn, and we put the word out that we will not be buying prezzies for everyones kids either. This was ok 'cause everyones skint too!
Bargain of the week....4 bottles of carlsberg for a pound in Morrisons. get in there!!
