I commenced my IVA in April 2004 and was able to complete it in September 2006 by remortgaging. I'm curious as to what my current credit status may be though, as even though my IVA has been settled for over 18 months I still cannot get credit anywhere. Is it possible that, seeing as my IVA should have ran for 5 years, I won't be able to start building up my credit score until April 2009 or even 2010 despite the fact I satisfied my creditors well ahead of schedule?

Hey niall.b, welcome to the forum. An expert will be along shortly to advise you. I think the IVA stays on file for 6 years from the date of your creditors meeting. You're in the right place for some good advice, well done for completing your IVA....don't blow it by getting further credit! [:D] Viki X

I'm sure we were told that regardless of how quickly we pay up our credit rating will be adversly affected for 6 years from approval of an IVA.
I have replied mainly to put your post back up to the top for an expert.
Good luck!

Hi
Just to confirm that April 2010 is when the record of your IVA will no longer be on your credit file.Settling early does not seem to help your credit rating I'm afraid
