Business Account for Ltd Company.

As an IT worker I am about to start contracting but need to set up an Business Bank Account on a Limited company basis.

Are there any banks that will accept me whilst being in an IVA (2 years in) If not can anyone recommend any of those "Guaranteed Bank Account" websites as I'm dubious about most of them.

That will be tricky and I do not know of any - but it might be sensible to ask your own bank first.

I got a business bank account through them with the halifax. I got a savings and current account.
I was a year into my IVA at the time.
I think another member of the forum just got a car through them too!

I had big trouble with this - I needed a limited company business account straight out of bankruptcy.

Natwest have a basic business account which costs around £5 a month but there is no credit 'worthiness' check. There is a check but only to help confirm your identity. The account can only be opened over the phone.

I believe most of the sites that charge £50 or whatever to open you a ltd company account just send you the forms for this account.

Hope this helps you as I could have really done with this advice a year ago!!

I tried to open a Nat West Business account and they slammed the door shut straight away !!
