Hi
You will only be allowed this with permission of your IP.You would be better asking for a one month payment break from your IVA and using this.
The missed month could be tagged onto the end of your IVA

Doubt that we would pass the credit checks. But this got me thinking.

If you buy now and pay later say in 12 months and you have less than 12 months left on your IVA would that be allowed?
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

I don't blame you for not wanting to contact them Orange, what a horrible comment to make!

I would still approach them and ask for a payment break though - you're not doing anything wrong, and a washing machine is a necessity.

Good luck x

Whether you have 12 months or 3 years left you are still in an IVA and should go by the conditions set - this may mean that this is a no go and that you need a payment break - however so be it - don't let anything jeopardise the completion of your IVA now - you have come along way and are almost at the end of the journey !

inaiva - you would still need to seek permission from your IP, circumstances may still change in a 12 month period.

I think Andy's suggestion is favourite - try and bag a bargain and get something that is graded; scratched or otherwise cosmetically damaged.

What a hideous comment to make to you - I think you should name an shame them on the forum!!!

I suggest you tell them that you have no choice but to miss a payment to purchase a new washing machine - this is an essential item given that you have a young family. Try and made an offer to pay slightly higher payments over future months so that the arrears can be gradually reduced. Do you have a house maintenance allowance as part of your expenditure?

no never of that!.there dont seam to be any rules on what you can and cant do.although our IP seams to change the gate posts all the time.we are now in the final year and have had a valuation, which is lower than the price than we brought it for we sent this to ou IP 2 weeks ago and are still waiting for them to tell us the next set of rules.

If you have not been allowed to retain anything to cover house maintenance, then you are more than justified in missing a payment to fund the new machine.
