Hi

Just had what seemed to be an Indian call centre ring (very bad line and Indian accent).

They said my IVA company hadnt been paying on time and the creditors had logged complaints...and this could lead to court action against us......They seemed to be offering some kind of solution that would mean a 50% reduction in the outstanding debt....he kept pushing to send out details of the plan but I hung up.

Anyone got any ideas how I can check if what he was saying is in anyway correct about the IVA not been paid on time...if I ask the company they are just going to say yes regardless.

Did you ask which call centre they were from? How would anyone know without verifying your details who you were or whether your creditors were being paid on time and if they were a creditor they are supposed to go through your IP now not direct to you.

I would take more details if they ring again and refer it to your IP. I know in an IVA people do trawl the Insolvency register and very often bankruptcy firms do write to those in an IVA to offer their services. Not heard of anyone calling before but it does sound familiar. However, one of our experts may know if this would be a call a creditor may make as I may be totally wrong.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi. This sounds a bit "iffy" to me. I imagine they are planning to negotiate a settlement with your creditors, or they will buy the debt and settle with you directly.

If your creditors had any complaints, believe me, they would be taking them up directly with your IP.

Which company are you with ?
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Certainly don't give any details and report them to your IP

We are with Griffin & King...the caller asked how much outstanding debt we had which I refused to divulge , at which point he asked for me to talk to his supervisor ...told him I wasn't interested.

If he creditors had an issue with the IVA company I understand they would take it up with them....but if there is an issue how do we check...after all if Griffin and King are not doing what they should they are not likely to pass that on voluntarily

I'm certain that if there was a problem with your IP you would know, they have strict boundaries to adhere to. I do know what you're saying but hopefully one of our experts will be along soon to give some advice.

Its simply a company trawling the insolvency register for targets to offer bankruptcy assistance to for a large fee.
