If you google them it will bring you up all sorts of info. However, before you start sending off your certificate to them, get a copy of your record (will cost you £2) from all agencies to see what is held on you.

Any defaults registered after the date of IVA acceptance then you contact the creditor, not the CRA. Enclose a copy of your completion letter and they have to alter the dates.

Your IVA will remain on your record until the sixth anniversary of acceptance and then it will just drop off.

It may well do but it will still show on your report. Up to you whether you send it off or not.

Thanks Flumpy, i have decided to still send a copy of my certificate to all 3 credit companies, mainly because i have been wanting to since i completed my IVA. Makes me feel good.

The certificate suprised me though, i dont know what i expected...but it certaintly isnt a certificate like i used to get at school! Ha ha...a bit of paper (not even card) with a signature on it! Oh well....still pleased i have it!

You can send it off but the IVA will drop off anyway at the end of six years.

Not to sure about this but i completed my IVA in May this year and checking my credit report on callcredit it says that some of my debts were defaulted after the start of my IVA does this mean i can write to my creditors and ask them to alter the dates also some of them show as satisfied and some of them still show as being in default some advice would be very much appreciated on this.

I am afraid that this is not always the case Kallis. My husbands IVA is still on his credit report, the 6 years was up in July. We gave it until our completion certifcate was received in August. We then sent a copy of to Experian so they could remove the IVA. One month later (exactly one month) Experian wrote to us saying that they would write to the Insolvency Service to confirm our claim, and would get back to us once they had received a reply. We are still waiting and it is still showing on my husbands file.

YES YES YES, send it off to the 3 CRA's. The IVA does not AUTOMATICALLY drop off after 6 years.

It only drops off after 6 years IF the IVA has been marked as COMPLETED. They will only do that if it is informed by the Insolvency Service.

Sending the certificate, the CRA will contact the Insolvency Service to make sure and then mark it as completed.

Yes you need to write to the creditors and ask them to updated the ORIGINAL DEFAULT DATE to the date of your creditor meeting of your IVA.

Then ask them to show the default as no more monies to pay - a zero outstanding balance.

And mark the default as Satisified or Partially Satisified on the Date of your completion certificate.
