My creditors meeting was on 16th September and my second payment went out of my account on the 4th of this month.
I am still receiving calls and letters which i am collecting.
Then today i received a call at work.Someone from my work had to come and collect me as i had a phone call. I asked who it was and the colleague said something to do with financial services.I went to the office and asked the people to call me on my mobile?
It was someone phoning from Barclaycard. When they called back i explained that Barclays had voted at the meeting and i was now actively in an IVA.They said that until they hear anything officially they will continue to call me at work??
One of the reason i went the IVA route was i didnt want my debts to be public knowledge especially among my work colleagues and Superiors.Have spoken to someone from my IVA company and they said it sometimes takes time to filter through.
Is there nothing i can do legally to stop the calls?
The calls to my mobile and letters dont bother me but how long will it be before the IVA becomes public knowledge. This wasnt what i wanted at all?

They should not be calling you now as their debts are captured within the IVA although it could be that the computer systems have not yet been updated.

Inform your IP about these calls as they now amount to harrasment.

You could tell colleagues that you are having problems with people trying to sell your something, or that you have a dispute regarding your account.

Thanks Kallis,i wasnt expecting the call especially as no one had tried calling my work before. If they had my work number previously why hadnt they tried contacting me before.I havent answered any calls to my landline or mobile until today.
Where have they got my work number all of a sudden and i thought we were supposed to be protected against this?

You are protected, it is harrasment and they are not allowed to call you now you are in a iva. It takes time to filter down, but I had a similar call from MBNA who tracked my workplace down and a colleague put the call through to me.

So annoyed at the time, as their act of calling me at work could have cost me my job and ability to pay all creditors back through the iva.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

You are 100% protected. Just do a little fibbing and let your IP sort it.

Tell your switchboard (or whoever) in the meantime that you are having some problems with your bank account and they are to be told that you are not contactable at work, you will sort it out at home.

Hi DMB,
I had my meeting a month before yours and BarclayCard are one of two creditors who still rang me and they voted in favour. Problem is that if they are using an automatic dial system and your work number is one of the numbers in the system they will continue until their system updates. Tell your IP obviously and then either wait for next phone call or ring them and give them your IVA companies Tel no Your case ref no and any other details that they can use IVA no, case officers name etc. I did this and they stopped. As for work, I would say I had been the victim of fraud and the bank/cc are trying to reconcile certain transactions.

Funnily enough, Barclaycard were one of my creditors, they phoned me on the date of acceptance, were sent away with a flea in their ear and I've heard nothing since.

Hi, not only is this harassment but it is also a data protection breach if they discussing their reason for calling with anyone but yourself. They are probably using your work number now because you have stopped responding on the other two. Insist they remove the number from their system.

One of our creditors is MBNA and I decided to take out all the old numbers online for the different creditors, but I reckon they will have them printed somewhere. Hubby's work number was on there. I have warnedhim but hopefully theywill not bother as we've had a letter from them today.
