Helpless121 - thankyou for your feedback.
I think the only difference is im already in an IVA and have been for 12 months. The point im trying to get at is can someone chase you after you have completed an IVA??? The full debt was included in my IVA proposal....

Thank you Sarah, that was my understanding re the joint loan, too. Subject, of course, to anything in the actual proposal.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I cannot understand how the judge can prevent the creditor from enforcing their rights under the laws of joint and several liability. He somehow expects the creditor to forget about chasing your ex wife and then be paid by you when your IVA is over even though you are debt free! This makes no sense at all and even if it did I cannot see a creditor agreeing to it anyway.

If your ex has to pay the debt off she can join your IVA as a creditor but as far as I can see she is liable for the debt.

No worries Lee.nt.
I'm not sure about it but I'm sure one of the experts here can help. I would say that if the debt is already in the IVA as its in force already, its included but thats just my opinion.
Good luck with it dude and don't let it beat you you down. You'll get a lot of support and answers here if you ask for the help. Great people who know what their talking about.
IVA completed!!! Looking forward to getting my life back! Stay positive and you'll get there in the end.

If you need a someone to listen, you can always ask me. I'll happily listen and give what advice I can as been there so understand and yes, it seems really unfair that most of the time its always seen as we are at fault and not the ex wives, all I know is I got shot of my leeching greedy one years ago and the tables have turned on her so theres always light at the end of the tunnel dude.
Don't let it get you down as much as its unfair, try and stay positive if you can for your own piece of mind.
