Hi Vic74
You dont have to be tha specific i.e I got a cc from xxxxx credit card company for a washer.

What your IVA company is looking for is an overview. I find it quite strange that you are being asked to complete this information on a form.

Have you not spoken to someone who went through you personal situation.

Would you mind sharing who the form is from

Hi Vic
As Beechy says I think you will find they just want a short statement as to how you got to this point. I remember mine was something like our debts had spiralled over the last 20 years due to having four children, high living costs being on low incomes, consolidating. That sort of thing as said they dont need to know exactly what you spent the money on.

Hope that helps.

Hi

Did Clearstart not take any details from you when you spoke to them, to save you the problem of form filling.

I am not with Clearstart but went through a similar process. I filled in a summary of my debt "history" on a form at the start of my IVA preparation but the main part of the process was a long and detailed telephone session with a rep from the IVA Company (followed up by a couple of supplementary calls to dot the i's and cross the t's). Only once all this was completed was my proposal finalised and sent to me.

Thanks for that optomist yes im expecting a lengthy process ahead also, but i though after giving the info inregards to monies coming in and out i dont suppose i was expecting to be asked why i was in the situation! but i suppose now looking at it, it is understandable.

Dont worry about it too much - assuming you go through the same process as me - just make sure you get as much information ready and to hand as possible beforehand - dates - amounts - events - changes in circumstances - documents - etc etc - so that you can provide an accurate as possible summary of how you came to be where you are. I am sure the person you speak with will be very experienced in dealing with collating what is required.

When I received my proposal to be put before creditors I was impressed to see what a long and detailed (and well written) document it was. It is far more than an I + E summary. This is why I get a bit concerned sometimes when people are critical of so-called "IVA Factories" (hate that expression). Well - my proposal came from a high volume provider and it is anything but "factory" standard - it is a very professional document. (Sorry - I will get off my soapbox).

Good Luck vic74 - hope everything goes well. I wish you all the best.
