can I adjourn court action to take out an iva

i have got the inland revenue putting me in court on unpaid tax £26000.00 and other creiditors on june 13 2007 i want to adjourn this in court to look at my options to take out a iva could you please advice if i can adjourn it in court and my next course of action

Hi office and welcome to the forum

Yes you can ask the Court to adjourn proceedings, if you are looking into the merits of an IVA. It would be useful if you could lodge a Statement of Affairs into Court to show the Judge that you have other creditors and that they should all be treated equally. First adjournments of these sort of proceedings are usually matters of formality, but it would help your case if you arranged to attend Court in person or found a solicitor to represent you.
