We made our last payment to our IVA in Dec 2017 and are waiting for our completion certificate. (It's with Aperature so not holding my breath!) Is it too early to apply for a credit card? Not sure if we have to wait for our actual certificate first. No intention of using it like before, but as a way of rebuilding our credit score. Thanks
You can try but do a soft search to see if you will be accepted first.

You might be able to get a card with Vanquis and/or Cash Plus. (Vanquis offered me a card 1-Year into my IVA!!!).
Providing you are sensible and re-pay in full each Month, using a credit card responsibly will, so I understand, assist you in improving your credit rating.
Good luck.
My opinions are just that: Based on my experience and being a self-employed IVA customer.
hi i got my completion cetificate then applied to update my current account with natwest
this was rejected so i then waited till name was off insolvency register[another 3 months]
the same day it came off i was able to upgrade account and got credit card approved
sorry for the not so good news but the sake of a few more months itll be worth it
