can I file bankruptcy for second time

I was made bankrupt around 4 to 5 years ago now and now find myself in trouble once again can I file bankruptcy for second time or not any advice would be so helpfull indeed

There is nothing to stop you filing for bankruptcy a second time, but if your application is within 5 years of your previous discharge, your new discharge will not be automatic and you will have to apply to Court.

Thank you so what do you mean apply thru the courts if its after 5 years what happens then and have one final question my wife and I have have joint bank account it was opened in her name but the loan is in my name how do I file that so it doesn,t interfere with her good credit

Your wife would be better off opening her own bank account and taking her name off the joint account before you petition for bankruptcy.

With regard to my reference to Court - you will need to apply to Court for your discharge from bankruptcy, if you declare yourself bankrupt within 5 years of the last bankruptcy.
