guys so glad i went BR and can include a holiday in my expenditure, although not much can still take the kids away, unless you are like andy ( don't mean to be disrespectful) and have a good father in law, it seems under an iva you are not entitled to a holiday.
sorry guys but at least you will be debt free in 5 yrs and can plan a good family holiday on the surplus you will then be receiving.

Could I go on holiday if my parents pay for me?

On the road to recovery IVA accepted
60months to go
Three cheers for IVA's
Wish I had done it sooner
23months to go

My partner has paid for me, so if they offer, take them up on it!

As said before, a holiday cant be budgeted for in a IVA. But there are ways and means to achieve one - either a generous partner, family member or friend, or get some overtime in and use your 50%. I also agree the holiday offers in the paper are great value and I have just got back from a long weekend away, though it cost me £12.50 not £9! Im still awaiting a decision on my adjourned IVA proposal, and the break was worth it just to take my mind off it for a few days!

I am amazed about this talk of £9-12.50 holidays, what amazing value! Where did you go?

I'm going on one of these in October! I'm going to Kent for 3 nights but you can go to all sorts of different places including France and Spain. Definitely worth looking into!

I am going to the costa del paignton for one night with my grandkids, my overtime is paying for it, and I dont mind, a sea breeze for a day and five star fish and chips al fresco on the beach, and I am looking forward to it, maybe not a holiday of a lifetime but a welcome break and the excitement for the kids is worth every penny.

Make sure you go to Paignton Zoo Ang! I went there for my 30th birthday a couple of years ago. Hope you have a good time!

Skippy funny you should say, I was looking today at the prices thought the kids would like it. Havent been for years. You have family down there dont you my mom lived on the moors in an old cottage and as you said it was a working holiday but I was never happier than down there, heartbroken when she sold and moved nearer, and that is why we have the odd night down there I have to have my devon fix.

On a light note when we went to paignton the once some funny birds looked like little ostriches had escaped out of a side gate, never see anything funnier than them trying to catch these things wandering around the road.

No, Dave's mum has a cottage in Sussex - sadly no family in Devon or Cornwall! I keep trying to persuade my mum to move to Cornwall but she's having none of it!

I really enjoyed Paignton Zoo - it was the only bit of the holiday I did enjoy! We went to Brixham for a week for my 30th and it was the holiday from hell - we were staying in an apartment right at the top of Brixham - lovely views but not so lovely when you wanted to go somewhere as I have never seen so many steps! To make matters worse, we were hardly getting any sleep as the couple below us went to bed at 2am and got up at 7am and we could hear them moving about. We ended up going home a couple of days early as we couldn't stand it any longer! I should have known what it would be like when I was 'got' by a seagull on the first day!
