Hi Claire, yes, you can apply for an IVA if you are self employed - I understand that IVA's were originally created for self employed. I don't know what it will involve, but one of the experts on here will be able to help you.

Good luck.

Hi claire

If you are thinking about going down the IVA route, shop around, phone several companies before deciding, taken your time and be sure that you can live on the amount in the proposal. Some people have had bad experience with unrealistic proposals that take months to go through, only to fail. The companies that post on here are very good. I am not an expert just another person in debt.

Please keep posting and let us know how you are getting on. Its a place of information, support and advice.

good luck

Hi Claire

Yes you can apply for an IVA when self employed. Just one quick word of advice at this stage; one item that self-employed people sometimes forget to include when calculating their disposable income is their allowance for personal tax/ni. Make sure you bear this in mind when considering your options.

Kind regards

Claire

You will also need to have a good set of trading projections to show your proposed Supervisor that you have a viable, profitable business which can generate surplus monies to repay your creditors.
