I have approx 90k unsecured loans in the Uk. Have not paid since nov 2007, can i still apply for an IVA. can I also do so whilst living abroad. not living in the EU.
If you have lived in the UK at any time during the last three years, then you may well be able to propose an IVA subject to certain criteria. I am acting more and more for UK nationals living abroad, who wish to deal with their debts in the UK in a responsible manner.
Seek advice from an insolvency practitioner with experience of these procedures and to understand the options available to you both in the UK and your current homeland.
We have acted for persons currently living in New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and in Europe who are all in IVA's which are currently running satisfactory. Provided your debts are UK ones and you have had an address within the last 3 years in the UK. Go for it. Good luck.
