Hi Melanie, Thanks for your input. I have already provided the OR with copies of my bank statements which clearly show that I transfered the deposit money into my current account fom my savings account and then the deposit money is clearly shown going out of the accont. I also gave them a copy of the Solicitor receipt for the same sum. With this in mind, how would you recommend I move forward? I have met a Solicitor (who pointed me towards Stack v Dowden) but now I feel he has given me bad advise especially as he initially said that my deposit money would be safe before my partner went bankrupt. An help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that the use of the Stack case has merit, and the arguments contained therein may have merit, but you will need to confirm the basis of ownership firstly.

Please read the attached link which may help you to understand the Stack case a little better, and decide whether you have any ground for claiming you case to be "unusual". And do ensure that your lawyer has experience of insolvency matters - as many do not and a good insolvency lawyer is worth their weight in gold.
