Thanks David.
Be careful though I am fed up of nights and the NHS at the moment. I could always carry your suitcase when you go abroad. lol

That is entirely up to you. I was told to stop making payments so that I had my first IVA payment ready. This I did and we did get the phone calls, but ignored them mostly and dealt with them all by letter.

Others do make token payments, but be warned, they will try to get more money out of you than you can afford to pay. Be firm and refuse to be bullied by them.

In reality it makes little difference and there are arguments for both ways. We tell our clients to make token, pro-rata payments in the period when we are helping them to put forward their proposals, whilst trying to put a little away for contingencies. This helps to prove that the budget you are going to be working to is manageable.

As soon as they are notified that you are in an approved IVA - yes

Whilst waiting for my IVA vote to go through i made token payments and sent a covering letter, I wasn't hassled or got any phone calls, was i one of the lucky ones?

Good luck mitsu9 i hope that you find inner peace and good fortune.

I think you were one of the lucky ones orchid! I made one or two token payments, and sent letters but still got hassled!

Interestingly we do not advise making any further payments once a Proposal has been circularised to your creditors. This gives you the opportunity to build up a little pot prior to the IVA being accepted.
