HI, I am considering an IVA and have spoke to Baines and Earnst . They stated that (and i agree) and IVA is the only way forward but the female seemed ridiculously keen to get me agree to this tonight and somewhat put out when I told her to call me back today. Can you offer any advice or a company which can be highly recommended

Hello and welcome.

Please visit www.iva.com and have a look round there, read reviews etc. Take time to speak to 2 or 3 providers and then make your mind up from there.

Regards.

The best advice is to talk to a couple of companies to ensure you get the best deal, make sure you can work with the company coz thats what you will have to do for 5 years in an iva. If you have doubts about them already it may be worth shopping around, there are plenty IP's listed at iva.com and some feedback. Have a look there and if B & E still look good enough then go for it.

How much is your debt and how much have you free to put into an iva? Any property with equity??
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

Hey alan, welcome to the forum. Don't be rushed into anything. Make sure you have ALL your options discussed with you and you are completely happy. As the others have said, go to www.iva.com and have a look at some reviews. I'm with Melanie Giles who posts on here and I can highly recommend her and her team. Good luck. X

Hi Alan .... Welcome to the forum. Read a few of the posts on here and you will see a pattern emerge on who thinks what about whom. Ms Giles comes highly recommended but there are many others out there too. Suss out 2 or 3 before you make a decision, because as Plasticdaft says ... you have to work together for at least 5 years. I myself am with BE, and have had no real problems to speak of.
When I was young I was called a rugged individualist
When I was in my fifties I was considered eccentric
Here I am doing and saying the same things I did back then and now I'm labelled senile

You do need to be careful of a sales team who are eager to sign you up without advising you on all options available to you. Have a look at my blog on choosing an advisor which may give you some tips and pointers to look for and questions to ask. Remember you are signing up to a long-term committment, and it is better to take more care at this stage than regret making a bad decision into the future.

Hi Alan,
Welcome from me too.
Shop around and choose carefully - whichever company you choose will be with you for the next 5 years or so (depending on how long your agreement will be). As said before read some of the posts - Melanie comes very highly recommended as I'm sure do some others.
Good luck,
Hugs,
