Hi louisa and welcome. Yes you can have a bank account in an iva. It would need to be unconnected to any of your creditors, basic with no credit attached like an overdraft. ther are several accounts, coop cashminder ,natwest step account. If you put bank accounts in the search there will be sevral posts about them. Nice to speak to you ask any questions you have.

Hi louisa and welcome to the forum

You can have a bank account in an iva and I would advise making it a piority to open a new account with a bank that is not one of your creditors asap if you are applying/thinking of applying for an iva.

I opened my account with the co op before my iva and I have a standard current account with a visa debit, cheque book, etc - just no overdraft facility.
If you are not able to open a standard account you will be able to get a basic bank account where you will still get the all important debit card and internet banking facility.
The co op comes very highly recommended on the forum but there are many out there just remember to choose a bank that is not a creditor and also very important to not use HSBC or first direct as they regularly close accounts of people in iva's

Good luck

Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that.
