It was a very nice curry thank you.

As far as I know Vidic has never been in trouble off the pitch. Rooney and Giggs are complete idiots and, to be honest, if I ha d children I wouldn't encourage them to look to footballers as role models.

And BTW, it's nothing to do with Bellamy playing for Liverpool, I've never been able to stand wherever he played!

The days of footballers being role models are long gone, the press and media have a lot do with that aspect. George Best was an alcohlic but still idolised and quite rightly, Alan Ball had drink problems but never villified for it, Paul Gasgoine is a mess now but as a player was one of the best in the world.
The point I'm trying to make is while players on the pitch entertain those who pay their wages then indescretions off the pitch should not be levied against them. Agree or not?
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

Funds paid to date accepted as F&F 16th August 2013, the wait for completion begins.
Wait over....certificate recieved 3rd May 2014

Not I'm afraid. I can admire someone for their footballing skills, but that doesn't mean that I have to like them. There are some really obnoxious footballers out there who unfortunately are idolised by impressionable children. If any child of mine said he wanted to be like Wayne Rooney or Craig Bellamy when he grew up I'd have him adopted instantly!

Part of my contract at work states that if I do anything to bring the company into disrepute then I will be sacked. If a footballer misbehaves off the pitch he's still paid by the club and basically gets away with it. Why should they be different, when their indiscretions would be far more public than mine would be?

Unfortunately while people are prepared to pay a fortune to watch matches each week then footballers will continue to think they are gods.

Agree 100% Skippy! I have never liked Craig Bellamy, even when he was a youngster and as you probably know he spent a good deal of time around here. Anyway, I am just trying to get over the 1-6 scoreline at Old Trafford. The title chase this season is going to be an exciting one me thinks. Well done to the Canaries for the ONE point at Anfield - numero 8 in the league (for now) x

I'm still in shock after that result! I'm just hoping QPR can beat Chelsea now!

There are some footballers that are likeable no matter who they play for (Zola and Solsksjaer spring to mind) and some who are so obnoxious it wouldn't matter if they scored the winning goal for your team in the Champions League Final, you still wouldn't like them!

Hi

What a great point for The Canaries yesterday. Brilliant save from Ruddy.
Can't believe the Man u score must be the worse for quite sometime.
As bad as us beating Ipswich 9-2 over 2 game last season.lol
Linda.

Apparently, a vet who supports Man U couldn't find a cure for an unwell bird he was treating, he said it will take ages to get over the SICK SWAN defeat. [:D][:D]

Norwich I would expect (a joke re the Canaries nickname, I know Ipswich fans for one call them that)

Re the role model/behaviour thing.... not saying it's any more acceptable, but I strongly suspect that the footballers of previous eras got up to exactly the same things, it's just that it was far easier to hide things in those days as there wasn't the communicative technology...

We get called Jack B******* by our "friendly" neighbours. We see it as a term of endearment, bless them [:D]
