Chilipepper, have you taken the step of speaking to someone yet?

If you haven't, then please do so as soon as you can. The forum and its contributors will help you as much as they can but that is no substitute for one to one advice based on your own situation.

Regards.

A professional would be your best bet for sorting out what to do. Do you have any other shared debt??

The joint debt will have to be included in an IVA, if that is what you decide to do, but the creditor will also pursue your husband for the debt as well under joint and several liability.

As joint debts are just that, joint and severally liable, all the more reason to take a professional slant on things.

If there are factors, such as WFTC awards etc, that prevent you from going forward right now then so be it, but to get the right advice as soon as you can would surely put your mind at rest.

Regards.
