2 years free of the IVA, which was completed without any problems. My credit checks with the 3 main agencies are clean, credit score is a little low around 450. But i have tried every where and can't get a bank account, not keen on these prepaid card accounts. My wife opened up her account before the IVA started, so my wages get paid into that one. But i wish to start a small business trading on Ebay so really need a bank account, any ideas

Nationwide cash card plus come's with a cut down visa debit card can only use it in the UK but it's just a normal account other than that
I got whilst in an IVA

If you are intending to run a business make it a ltd one. There are many many reasons to do so which I won't go into now. But like a person if it makes a profit then it gets it's own credit rating! And you can do many things with a ltd company if your (hubby) credit rating is low

Are you on the electoral role?

Definitely on the electoral role. The annoying thing is i was upfront with some of them about the IVA and they said no problem, go through with all the details and then get turned down.

Just applied for the Nationwide Flexaccount online and it says i have been accepted, details to follow in the post, so fingers crossed, its a start.

I'm with Nationwide as well and, apart from the painfully slow service in my local branch, I'm quite happy with them.

Just out of interest which Co-op account did you apply for? Their basic Cashminder account can only be opened on the phone or in a branch.

I tried for their basic business account first and was turned down but told to ring because they had other accounts. So rung them and asked about the cash minder account and still got refused

OK update,
Hopefully got the nationwide account. But had lloyds, Santander and Barclay's all ringing me back after turning me down. I spoke to Barclay's and went down this morning and opened a business account as well, they even wanted to give me a loan. Upset them when i turned the loan down, but that felt good
