I have money problems as the moment. I was lumbered with a £5ooo wich is not mine and someone else put this in my name. I cant get hold of him and he dont have the cash! Because of him I cant get a bank account and also cant go bankruped as I got a personal Licence for my job. I need help and fast. Thanks

Hey ds182, welcome to the forum. I'm not an expert in this but I think you can hold a personal licence it's just a premises licence that is not allowed. Sounds a bit unfair about the debt though, can you post a few more details so the technical experts can help you further. X

I assume you mean a personal license under the Licensing Act 2003? If so, Viki is absolutely right - it won't be affected by bankruptcy, as the law is more concerned about whether you have allowed after hours drinking, drug dealing etc. The premises license is another matter though.

If it's not that type of license, what is it?

So far as the debt itself is concerned, did you agree to someone taking it out in your name?
