I finally finished my IVA last month! Hurray!
However, I'm at a point where I really need to change my car - everything's falling apart on it, and I probably spend more money on it than it is worth!
My question is though - how long will I need to wait until I apply for car finance? My credit rating is obviously non existent, and my certificate has not been completed. Do I still need to ask my ip for permission?
I just thought that if I could use the money that I would have normally put into my monthly payment as a car instead, then I wouldn't still miss that much, and still be able to live on my budget!
Any advise would be much appreciated! Thanks

Not sure if you'll need the Certificate of Compliance before applying for finance. Maybe one of our experts will advise a little later.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Congratulations!!! I would think your IP can give permission for you to take on new borrowing at this stage. You may find you need a deposit so could always spend the next couple of months saving up and by then hopefully you should have your certificate x
