Hopefully they've improved since then! I would consider them if the price was right...

The one thing I like about them and Direct Line is that the excess for daughter at the moment is £400 as she is 20. Come May when she turns 21, it drops to £250 and that is the lowest excess I have been able to find for her.

For risk of a cheesy song [:D]...I found "Sheila's wheels" had best deal for me. Excess is only £100 too.

Sheila's Wheels, Diamond were all twice as much with a higher excess for the daughter.

I found them quite expensive for me. It doesn't help that Dave has had 2 accidents in the last 5 years and I've had 1, and he's also got 3 points on his licence from 4 years ago!

Jan - how long do points stay on your licence for? I had just got rid of some last year, and have recently got knabbed again for another three.

They're valid for 3 years and can come off your licence after 4 (so my ex traffic man hubby informs me!)

I thought they were valid for 3 years but stay on your licence for 5 years. I know the insurance companies want to know about any points in the last 5 years.

That's what it used to be when I was in the court service, but that was a few years ago!

No, they can come off after 4 years - perhaps it's just the insurance companies way of getting more money out of you!

You must declare any convictions in the past 5 years for insurance. Points drop off licence after 4 though.

Driving with your mobile in your hand SHOULD get you 6 points right away but thats an argument for another day.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

Don't get me started on that one either!

You will have to send your licence back to have them removed though.

And pay!

I'm not happy as I've got to pay for a new picture licence this year as my picture will be 10 years old. I didn't want one in the first place, so why on earth should I have to pay?!?!

My picture doesn't resemble me -short blonde hair!

If they add points for using mobile surely smoking a cigarette should be worth double points!
