Can anyone recommend a company that will allow me to pay direct debit each month? As anyone got approved for this as a new customer...just don't want to try tesco say for instance and get turned down.

Some of them do I believe. You can get it but they don't let you pay monthly.

I was advised that if you stay with the same broker/company they don't generally credit check every renewal if you have been paying monthly without any problems.

They do a credit type check but normally just to see that you live where you say you do. Remember that with car insurance you pay a month in advance at all times so they will always get their money.
I had no problems and you could do worse than go via the quidco website to see if you could get some cashback!!!
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

I have been with zurich for a for years now.....via a broker.....but...the broker has changed from equity to swinton...but the direct debit has always been in zurichs name. today i got home and have a pile of info from swinton with a zurich quote (expires 30th Nov) and an alternate quote with AXA....much cheaper but scared to change over incase i get refused monthly I don't know what to do now....it does say direct debit subject to status even on the zurich quote

I took out new cover last week with LVE and have set up direct debits. I've been in IVA since July.

Good news, glad you got the insurance sorted.
