Hi All,

We managed to sell my car even though it was at deaths door and now my husbands car has problems....grrr I hate cars!!!! I think we are going to buy a small runaround for now (small Clio or similar) until we can save up for something better. I've been loosing sleep at the thought of borrowing money - I can't go there again after the struggle and stress we have had for 5 years. I want to say I am debt free!!!
8 payments to go!

we have just completed a 6 year IVA sop its off our records, we have certificate etc we desperately need a new car present one keeps going wrong, we would love to pay about £150 a month for a new one, with a low apr about 4%, we have a credit we kept through IVA for hotel check ins etc, and we have mobile phone bills etc, surely withing a couple of months we should be acceptable to leasing or purchase plans?

Hi, nice to see you again.

I would think that within a couple of months you could look to leasing a car.

I know you will get one from Dunctons but I believe there is a high deposit to put down and the APR is high.

Have you made sure that there are no defaults registered on your file after date of IVA acceptance? If so then you need to get those removed.

hi again
FCUK to Ductons i said 4% not 40% we are just waiting 1 more month to do an experian check, so hopefully by March we will be able to get something ordered, rewally prefer the car company lease purchase schemes as we will ge about £1k for ours, and be able to put another £1k down, and get something like the fiat 500 mentioned for about £150 a month. feel really agrieved if it doesn't happen, as we done the time, so why should we now still be penalised!!!!!!!

Sorry, but it is the only one I know where you can definitely get a car and several of our posters have used them and been quite happy.

Whilst we have paid our dues, a lot of companies don't like it and are funny about giving credit.

I hope you manage to get one. If so, come back and let us know as it will give other posters hope.

Needs must cockerhoop. I'm glad that you are in a position to wait to lease a car but a lot of other people aren't, and have no choice but to pay a higher APR.

Hi - I've just ordered a Fiat 500. I put £1000 down and they gave another £750 towards deposit and then I'll pay £170pm for 36 months with a balloon at the end. The APR is 4%. My boyfriend is taking out the finance and I am leasing the car from him. So youmcan get a 500 for the money. I'm not sure about getting the finance though...they didn't seem unduly fussed about the check. In fact the car is ordered and We still haven't gotten around to doing the credit check on my oh.

I would have thought the the credit check would have been done as soon as you ordered the car. That's how it has been for me for everything I've ordered on credit.

Nope. I phoned the deposit through and got a reference number and we can go back at any time to do the finance bit...even when we pick the car up! And yes, they are a very reputable dealer and it's all legit!! Rarely in that part of the county, but hopefully we can get it done this weekend There won't be any problem with him but it will be a weight off my mind when it's done.
