Kaza, I'm so sorry that you're having such a tough time, but there's no way you should be going without food. An IVA is about managing your debts, and while it's not supposed to be easy, it shouldn't be like this.

Please contact BE again - I'd email the address above.

Have you got any assets that would be at risk if you went BR?

Kaza do contact your IP as really you shouldn't be living like that, you need to eat yourself too. I know we can't live the high life but we don't have to live like you are x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I do hope this member of staff will received some much needed additional training to enable them to deal with client queries in a more sympathetic and sensible way.

Kaza, Im with BE & your first year sounds like my first one. Within 3 months of our IVA our Car was due its service n MOT & it went horribly wrong & cost 650. Luckily my Parents helped but they also dont know of the IVA & never could. Our monthly allowance to save for the car was & is 35pm.

We lived & still live through our IVA having to say no to the children for swimming, football, school dinners, out of school activities so I know how hard it is & totally sympathize with you..
We have only got this far through small pay rises n BE being very understanding n allowing us to keep them & increase our Expenditure through reviews done before they were due.

We started with a horrendous Income & Expenditure that was unrealistic to a family of 4s living needs. Examples: 30pm for gas & electric n 295 for food/household goods.
And with the way its worked out us getting more tax credits/child benefit a month than what we actually do n that we pay less C Tax & W Rates than what we actually pay, We are also about 100 down a month before we start. I dont know if yours is worked out like that too, but it makes it harder.

You are really struggling & I urge you to contact them again. I got through to them by contacting them on the email in an earlier post.
My experiences so far have not been good but my last review, I had with my case manager, he was brilliant & very understanding.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

I must admit, I`m very concerned at the amount deemed sufficient allowed in your expenses to maintain a car. I`m at the `just sent off all my paperwork, etc` stage, but last month I had a bill for over £650.00 for work on my car. In the last twelve months I`ve had to spend £1100.00 on my car (fuel pump, ignition coils, tyres, servicing, engine thermostats,MOT). I don`t mean to sound abrupt or anything, but it`s a simple scenario...In my situation if my car needs repairing it will have to be repaired no matter what those repairs will cost, because if it`s not running I won`t be able to get to work, and I`m sure most of us on this forum would be in the same situation...I think a realistic guideline for car maintenance would be £75.00 per month, that would at least give you half a chance should anything only relatively serious go wrong with you car.

I can understand what your saying Goosed. Everyones IVA is different as is everyones car.
We all do different mileage n all have different needs for our cars.
It all depends on how old the car is n the size of engine etc. Both myself n my Dad have ford fiestas but Dads tyres cost more cos of the size they are!
Its something I think a IVA company or CCCS can not regulate due to this & it comes down to the individual needs.
But like in most cases living off credit, do we really know what is acceptable to save for Car Services n MOTs having lived off credit for so long at the start - NO!
I was only 3 months into our IVA before our 1st car mot etc n saving of 105 had no impact on 650 bill.

Just had a call from a Manager at Baines and Ernst (forgot his name sorry). Anyway what a totally different experience, the guy was really helpfull and answered all of my questions. The cost of the car repairs (£577.02) will be offset against the extra salary recieved in my April pay so I wont have to pay extra [:)]

Also I am booked in for an I+E review next Tuesday, due to my increase in salary. As it seems I was misinformed in March, when I was told to wait until my Year end review in July! If I had waited I would have been hit with a big bill [:(]

So my advice to anyone who thinks they have had a poor service from their iva company is to email the IP direct! it works wonders. I emailed Baines and Ernst first thing this morning (ip@blairendersby.co.uk) and got a call this evening.

My faith has been restored, just wish I could remember the guys name....lol

I will let all of you know how my review goes[:D]

Hi Mark,

Glad you got things sorted [:D] we must of had the misfortune of speaking to the same rude person on the end of the telephone, because I also rang them last month re my I & E and was also told I would need to wait until my yearly reveiw[:0]to sort out my deficit. I will send B&E an e-mail and hopefully get an decent response like you did. I am so pleased your issues are resolved......well done and thanks to you all for the advice.
