Mine is a 12 reg and knowing my luck I'll have a beady eyed MOT examiner! With hindsight I shouldn't have bought a diesel but we were intending on doing longer runs than we have.

I used to do lots of long runs, and have got used to diesels, but, with my new driving habits (can't drive too far with the old M.E) I ought to switch to petrol when the IVA is over and I can change cars.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I probably won't buy another diesel (unless I know I'll be doing more miles) but I've noticed that even on shorter journeys I'm getting more out of a tank of diesel.

It's a good excuse to have a day out every month!

I drive once a week 80 miles in a day, once a month 300 miles in a day, other 5 days its 12 miles max.

Tbh ive been seriously umming and ahhing over this, i applied as i wanted a newer car, got the green light, called them its 12-14% apr then i started to seriously think, i need a bigger car but i can get by, this year i know the timing belt, water pump and brake pads all need changing as the car is coming up to that mileage only 5k to go until the recommended time and tbh 8 years old so deserves some work, saw a mate about sorting the dents out, he knows someone at one of those mobile dent repairs. Its funny before my iva i wouldn't think twice now i debate every time i spend a penny.

I used carloan4u post iva , and the experience I had was total dis belief ? they put me on with a lad called mat ? he told me find a car I want local garage or auto trader , phone him before I contact the garage to make sure they are credit registered , I found a car phoned him and he said yes we have delt with them before go take a look at it , i went to see it and loved the car but they would not budge on price , I phoned mat to inform him what had happened , his reply was give me a minute I'll ring you back 10 mins later he rang me back and said if you wanted I've perswaded them to accept your offer a day later I picked the car up , found they couldn't be more helpfull and so nice to deal with , I'm there customer for life

I decided not to go with carloans4u, but i did go back to the dealer today, saw another car which im other half thought was perfect and tbh it is, went and had a chat with the sales team, got a trade in price for my little c2, not as much as i hoped tbh but everylittle helps, got to the finance bit and i was open and honest, my oh suggested she financed it instead of me but i get the log book in my name so im the registered keeper. So all done, she got an apr of 6% which is awesome, and in a couple of weeks i get to pick up my new car.

I feel guilty using her to for my finance, i told her she shouldn't of suggested it as i feel in debt to her and guilty tbh, i know in 6 months time my credit history should be clear, one bonus is my oh has to apply for a driving license, going to tempt fate and get her some lessons!!
