Hi,

I have spoken to my IP and they have said that I can get a replacement car for my expensive car to roughly the same value as I'm paying now as its classed as an expediture and not a part of my IVA.

They have said that they will provide me with a "letter of no objection" when I find a suitable car.

I have found this car now but the company im using to buy the car can't find any finance company who seems to listen or even understand an IVA.

Can anyone recommend a company or finance company that will help me?

Starting to get dis-heartend even though all im trying to do is cut down my expenditure in these tough times.

Paul

What could be the implications of my partner getting finance and me paying her back each month on an IVA?

My IP doesn't open on a Sunday and getting really quite down over this situation.

Any advice would be a big help - sorry to come across as a whinger..

Hi as far as I am aware, your partner can get a car on HP as long as she is not part of the IVA, She would have to send a letter to your IP detailing that you are allowing her to do the dealing with the HP and that she has requested a standing order for the amount each month, with full details of the standing order i.e
if the car was £200 a month and you paid her every 1st of the month you would need to put this in the letter, she would also need to detail when the final payment will be and if their is likely to be any balloon payments.
As HP is usually a fixed amount each month, she wont have to say that she will review it annually.

I did the same with my mobile phone contract which is in my mums name.

Good Luck
