Car has decided to annoy me with hot starting issues. It starts fine from cold, seems to be running fine, but if I leave it switched off for 10-30 minutes it takes an age to start.

Really want to change it but not paying moneybarns extortionate rates so the old golf has to last me until the trust deed drops off my records(may next year).

Booked into the garage for next friday(so I am back on days off),lets hope its not expensive!!

Hope it's not too expensive for you Paul. Blooming cars. I'm lucky as I take it the college garage and let supervised students work on it for most things at a much reduced price.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I cant wait for the day I get back into a much newer car!! The golf is due its MOT in may so the garage is doing a minor servicing as well as sorting the fault(hopefully),so if it gets past the mot then it gets kept for a further 12 months by which time I should maybe be able to get some sort of loan or finance and have a decent deposit to put down.

I would love a new car, had this one 10 years now come August but until I get a drive or a garage I'll keep it as it's damaged a lot and not by me. x

They have reset all fault codes and it seems to be running ok but if it goes again they think throttle body housing or engine coolant sender. Not overly expensive thankfully and only £20 bill for diagnostics.

Haha didnt last long!! More hot starting trouble. Thanks the the wonders of the internet I appear to have figured out that the engine coolant temperature sensor is faulty. Cost about £25 from vw and by the looks of the videos online I can repair it myself!! Job for the weekend methinks.
