From my point of view, I think IVA debt is more suitable for the people who want to have a mortgage because there is an option there that you can make affordable monthly payments in the first 5 to 6 years but there are obviously some pros and cons in it. There are different types of debt so you can have knowledge about it and make your choice after that.

Jason you are responding to a post from 2007...

Also, Bankruptcy and IVAs affect an individual's credit rating for 6 years in the same way so I'm not sure that an IVA will make a lender more likely to lend after the 6 years when compared to Bankruptcy but maybe Shaun or Ryan can let me know if this is wrong.
