Don't forget the guidelines are simply that Julie! If you spend £30 on dry-cleaning and can justify that cost, this is what your allowance ought to be set at.

I have to admit i found the CCCS to be quite flexible with the items on my I&E report. The drafter for my IVA said that they were just guidelines and if you did spend more that was fine to include the larger amount. I was even allowed £27 towards my share of sky tv. At the end of the day and IVA has got to be livable, no point setting yourself up for failure by setting unrealisticly low figures. 5 years is a long time.

Clearly the CCCS seem to have more leeway with their own guidelines when negotiating with creditors than others, if your experience is anything to to go by! But glad that you have found an affordable solution.

dry cleaning.....[:0]
I wasn't even allowed to feed the cats for 5 years!!! I was told this had to come out of the £130 food budget. Vets alone has cost £20 a month over the last 18 months. When I tried to include them after a payrise I was told they couldn't be included because they were not on the original proposal!
we survive by ignoring the silly allowances and allocating funds were it's needed.

Appalling - and I hope that this will be rectified in your next review. You need to dig in on this point Pixie, or name and shame the IP firm (I know who they are!!).

Hi Melanie
Could you let me have guidelines and also in light of current recession have they been reviewed/updated to reflect the increase in cost of living?

We struggle every month and need to submit review asap
