Who is telling you that you cannot claim for a hairdressing allowance>

Best thing to do is to make an enquiry via the CCCS website to see the categories that they, and therefore creditors, will actually allow.

I don't see why you cannot claim for dental insurance if you can get it knowing that you have a lot of work to be carried out. These policies generally only cover new treatment.

Thanks Melanie, I'll have a look at the CCCS site. My caseworker advised against including it. My understanding was that creditors took a dim view of this and would expect me to save for them from other allowances.

Dont be frightened into not letting your ip know if you are struggling. Its their job to ensure you are able to maintain payments into the IVA,and if that means reducing payments then that what will happen.

Hello, I work for a debt advisory firm and was just browsing for some further information on the CCCS guidelines and came across this. You may already be aware, but in case you're not, I just discovered that CCCS reviewed and increased the guidelines on 13 September 2010. I have emailed them to request a copy, so it will be intersting to see how they've changed.

Hi,

We do know they have changed, but I still don't think they are very generous.

We always tell posters to put down exactly what they spend.

Yep, luckily they are only guidelines. :)
Take care,

Totally agree, we can't all live the same as we're all individual and that's what we're in Individual Voluntary Arrangments x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
