I was wondering as it seems so long ago I started my IVA... Oh yes, it was! ... time flies! ...

I remember being told that once completed IVA, I would get a CofC... I know that is still some way off to end my VA unless I can get f&f, but just wondered how soon you actually get that certificate after final payment. Also, bearing in mind that my VA is a 6 year term, I assume that once completed, it will also coincide with the timing of removal from register as will also be 6 years from VA start.

hi
Certificate of completion normally about 3 months after final distribution. IP will have to wait until all cheques are cashed. If any are not(cheques valid for 6 months) there is usually a provision for funds to be redistributed amongst remaining creditors. Can cause delay but creditors should normally cash cheques promptly. If the amount is small(usually about £500 it can be sent back to debtor but this will be in you proposal.
2 Once you receive C of C you can have record removed off insolvency register.
3.IVA's stay on your credit file for 6 years from when you started the iva.If it is a 6 year iva then it may come off a year after finishing iva. I am sure some one else on the forum can clarify this final point.

HI
Insovency register is different from your credit file reference file.
With the Insolvency Register you can have record removed as soon as you receive your C Of C from your IP

Hi
Even though your IVA is six years it will still be off your credit file six years from the start of your IVA and not seven.
