Getting people off SVR's and onto more expensive fixed rates makes financial sense so not sure why more mortgage providers dont help out. Plus the loan is secured onto the property so as long as the LTV isnt too high there really is no risk at all. This is from an industry than only a short while ago allowed self employed to self certify how much they earned in order to approve 110% and greater LTV mortgages.

I worked with someone who was salaried but as he had a couple of other business interests (not particularly profitable) he self certified and got a whacking great mortgage!!
