Hi Everyone

I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for a change of address to go through!

Just before I started the IVA process I moved flats. Sent letters did calls to change contact info. However, the banks (not that they are calling and writing all the time) keep hounding my nan (who I used to live with!!). Help! Do I just have to keep calling and writing to them untill they get the message?[:(]

Are you in an IVA currently or just in the process of starting one? If you are in one contact your IP and he/she should sort it out. If you aren't then contact the bank again and explain you are no longer at the address they are contacting and they are causing stress to the lady who lives there.

If you are in an IVA then they should not be writing to you any longer in any case!

I would tell your nan to send them back, unopened with 'Not at this address' written across the front. Some companies need this to happen before they put a 'gone away' flag on the account to stop further letters.
It's nice to be back......

What a nuisance for both you and your nan Cherrypink!

They should change the records straight away, especially as you have phoned them.

I presume you will have to phone them again. I would tell them that an elderly (I presume she is elderly - apologies if she is not) person lives there and it is causing her distress.

In a perfect world this should be true Melanie, but it was six weeks before my letters stopped, and that only because I forwarded them to my IP and he had a word.

Hello

Sorry I am at a midway point (I think?!) Four weeks in and booked in next week to speak to a lady at Wilson Philips (they finally have all my paperwork together). Everything feels like its taking so long :( I guess its always on my mind!

I don't mind (well I do!) but its fine if they want to contact me, but to continue at my old address (calling and sending bills there) is annoying! I gave them all my new details weeks ago!

Well if it gets on top of you and you need a good old whinge then you're in the right place. Tell your Nan to return the mail and if she has an answer phone scan the phone messages before she picks up. Or you could get her to change her number ... its free and takes about 24 hours.

We've been bankrupt since 13th Feb '08 AND we are still receiving letters threatening to take us to court and proceed with legal action! [:(!]

Hi Ray
Do you just call BT up? I can't see any information about changing numbers on the BT website. I guess its not really fair on her though - all her friends from around the world have that phone number.
