Hi,

I have just received a letter from my IP Blair Endersby advising me that they are changing there payment method to direct debit and if the monthly contribution changes they will do all the work and inform me in writing. They have enclosed the direct debit but I am quite happy with my Standing order that is in place which obviously does not allow them to change anything without myself doing it. Can I tell them I do not want to change it??

Thanks

Hi Ray,

I can't see why it makes any diference to the firm, so long as they receive the right amount on the right date. If you're more comfortable with and SO then just tell them that - How you transact your money should be up to you, and the more control you have the better I think. Good luck...

Hi Ray
I would give them a ring and ask if this is really necessary. If it is then, I would want to know at least a month in advance of any change to payment and why.
I pay by debit but any extra i tell them to take as a seperate one agreed with me (for overtime) as I find if it is changed on the original they can confuse themselves and take the same amount the next month.
Speak to them.

Hi it is ok I have just spoken to them and they said I can carry on as normal with my Standing Order. They just thought it would be easier for them if anything needed to be changed. I just said if the amount changes I can easily do it myself

Thanks everyone

Well done Ray. I pay my IPA by standing order and I prefer doing it that way as I'm in control of my money!

I personally do not like Direct Debits simply because it then gives them the authority to take what they like, when they like from your account.

Where as a standing order is a fixed amount on a fixed date.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.
