I notice that they are now offering a visa debit and electron, well it seems that way from their terms and conditions:

Well Just spoke to Coop and they are offering Visa Debit over the next few months to Cashminder accounts, as the appreciate that Electron is not widely accepted.

Is that for IVA customers ? If so they will be inundated with applications - about time too.

I don't think the account differentiates between those in an IVA and those not.

Unlike Nationwide!!!!!!

I don't know what the matter is with NW - supposed to be a mutual - to whom I wonder! Implied dishonesty again Jan - I wonder what they would say if an IVA lottery jackpot winner walked in with the cheque and wanted an account.

I would like to see you with some of the difficult banks if you have a multi million cheque in your hands that would be fun.

I'm not happy with Nationwide at the moment - I went to Sainsburys on Sunday and before I went I transferred some money from my savings account into the current account, and it went across.

When I checked my statement yesterday I noticed that I'd gone overdrawn by £9.50 as Nationwide had taken the payment before showing the credit.

I'm now waiting for the letter to tell me they're charging me £35!

If you go overdrawn then money goes in hours later as long as its the same day you shouldn't get charged. Well thats how mine was with lloydstsb. Looked at my bank and only £7 in there.I'm poor.[:(]

Skippy that is bad. If they try and charge you, then you need to make a very strong complaint about it.

I phoned up the Co-op and they said that it comes into effect on 8th June, and as my card isn't due to be renewed for another 3 years to call back and ask them to do it.

I also asked how long it would be before I could have a full current account with the Co-op, and I was told 6 months after being discharged from bankruptcy! Being cynical I don't believe it, so I've just applied online and I'll let you know how quickly they say no!

Wonder, that was the good thing about Lloyds TSB, you have until 3pm (I think) to pay the money in on the day the payments are due. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't know the money had gone in before I went shopping!

If Nationwide cause any problems I'll be taking my custom elsewhere - not that they're bothered as I haven't got an overdraft, loan, credit card etc with them!
