HI All,

I have a question please regarding taking up the post of a trustee, as I have been approached to do so.

I entered a F&F IVA in June 2016, completed February 2017, I have read that being in an IVA or similar precludes you from being a trustee in a charity, however does it have any bearing that I filed a F&F, and that it is due to drop off next month altogether.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you

As far as I am aware, providing that you have been issued with your completion certificate, you are discharged from the IVA and, therefore, not disqualified as a Trustee. The Charity Commission might be worth a call to check.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

It depends on the charities specific regulations they have around financial matters linked to their trustees. In my iva I was allowed to continue as it was very specifically worded with regards to ever having been declared bankrupt .... have a good read of any constitution or terms of reference
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
