Ok Im totally on the money saving way of thinking now, for those of you who like having plug in air fresheners etc but can't justify paying ridiculous amounts of money (myself included) you may want to try this alternative method.

Buy some oil - not the cooking type lol but the nice smelling oil burner ones, get some cotton wool with a few drops of your chosen oil and wipe it around your light bulbs!! sounds strange I know but when you turn your light on the heat warms up the oil and makes your home smell lovely.

Using the same oil you can also put a couple of drops on your hoover filter so when you hoover you get a lovely smell also.

Worth a try and perfect for christmas with all the lovely spicy and cranberry smells.

For that really christmassy smell, use cinnamon sticks and rest one on the radiator so as it warms up, it starts to smell really wintery.

I have got a couple of jars of the sticks that are out of date so can't use them anymore for cooking so now keep them for this purpose! Cheaper than buying the christmas scented candles!!

Those are some very good ideas actually!!! It is amazing what money saving ideas people come up with.

I wonder what a modern day millionaire banker would make of us all if he chanced upon the forum!! Probably think we were all like the family (Cratchetts????) out of Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol"!!!!! Well - I would just say to Mr. Banker that we are taking a humble but responsible way to reach an amicable agreement with our creditors!!! And there is nothing wrong with that.
